Prevention Guidelines for Healthy People Without Symptoms of Disease

ADULTS (21 years of age and over)

bulletBlood Pressure every year.
bulletTuberculosis test once in lifetime.
bulletTetanus-diphtheria vaccine at age 50.
bulletPneumonia Vaccine at age 65.
bulletFlu shot each year starting at age 65.
bulletColon Cancer Test starting at age 50.

 

WOMEN

bulletBreast exam each year by doctor starting at age 40.
bulletMammogram every 1-2 yrs between ages 50-69.
bulletPap smear every 1-3 yrs between ages 18-65.
bulletBlood cholesterol once between ages 45-65.
bulletHormone replacement - discuss with your doctor.

 

MEN

bulletBlood cholesterol once between ages 35-59.
bulletProstate cancer test - discuss with your doctor.
bulletPeople with symptoms of disease, or who have
been told by their doctor they are at risk should
call their doctor and ask if they should have 
these tests more often.

 

Children (under 18 yrs of age)

bulletImmunizations 2,4,6,12 & 15 months.
